Meet the Developer

“Magnifying Muck" was developed by Chase W. Fleece—historian, writer, conservationist, and native Hardin Countian. A trained environmental historian, Chase's research broadly explores natural resource management and commodity production in North America throughout the twentieth century. Long interested in the Scioto Marsh, he is currently drafting his first monograph entitled Ohio's Scioto Marsh: A New History.
